Steve Root

Originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Steve has played bass, guitar, and piano in a variety of working bands.  Steve is a Classically trained musician, and he’s performed with some legendary jazz greats, including Clark Terry, James Moody, and John Fedchock.  That said, he’s happiest when he’s jamming to some classic country or old time rock and roll!  Steve is one of few bass players in this area that play a SIX string fretless bass!

When he’s not performing, Steve enjoys cliff-diving and testing experimental aircraft.
